Climate change is causing more frequent and severe weather-related humanitarian disasters. Those least responsible for the climate emergency are hit the hardest.

Despite the urgency and the peak in donations when disasters strike, the communities that need the most support are out of sight, out of mind.

The world desperately needs to rethink our approach to financing climate action. Most people have a “rainy day” fund – so why should we not have one for the planet?

To launch the Climate Action Account at COP29 with a limited budget, we created a simple call to action. What if everyone contributed 1% of their income to accelerating climate action?

Results:
Across polls, 88% of people who came across the question agreed, helping transform climate anxiety into climate action.
